Status updates

If you cannot wait to receive your tax assessment after your tax return was filed, please consider that the Dutch tax authorities formally have 3 years to issue a final tax assessment. In general they are quicker and issue a final assessment within a year from filing your return.

In case a payable or refundable result is expected based on your income tax return, they often issue a preliminary assessment and settle finances within 3 months from the moment of filing of your return. In that situation, the final assessment is just a formality from a Dutch point of view, with a nil result.

Status check with Dutch tax authorities
Due to the fact that it is possible that they take 3 years, we can check the status of a return only once, after the 3 month period has expired - to check if the return is received and being processed. Further status updates are not part of the fixed income tax preparation fee.

You can  check for yourself by calling Belastingdienst at 0800 0543 only from a Dutch phone number or from a non-Dutch phone number you can call +31 555 385 385 (international desk) to check the status (available in English).
